Started the day fishing for open water fish. They must of started there own New Years resolution because they were a bit finicky. Could catch one or two out of each school then I had to move on. Once I started targeting deep fish they were almost taking the rod out of my hand. Fish were 2-4 cranks off the bottom and good ones. Deep fish were caught on 3/16th with black and chartreuse tube jigs

What an awesome day on Lake of the Ozarks!!! We fished for 5 hours today and caught 80 plus fish. Fish were caught on 4 inch jerk baits as well as 1/16 and 1/8 oz jigs. Black and chartreuse tipped with crappie niblets. As you can se from livescope that the fish were in deep water but not deep in the water colum. Great depth for jerkbait or jig under a bobber. Tight line crappie would hit the 1/16th on the fall or when the jig started to come up vertically. I spend 300 plus days a year on the water and this my favourite time of year to chase crappie. Absolutely hammered them!!! Spent two fine days with these gentlemen and the crappie were definitely cooperating. Boated 100 plus fish and some true slabs. Dates are starting to fill up. Book a trip and enjoy some great fishing and great times.
